		<description>strange thing is, i could only make it to the end of your first paragraph before losing interest.

the pitchfork 'review', on the other hand, made it's point quickly and effectively, so i think it served it's purpose.

plus, it made me laugh. hard.</description>

I would argue that a reviewers main job is to know his or her audience -- a reason I don't go to &lt;a href="http://www.family.org/entertainment/Reviews/" rel="nofollow"&gt;Family.org&lt;/a&gt; for insightful film commentary. People who read PitchforkMedia are different people than those who read Rolling Stone who are different from those who read Spin who are different from those who read EW. Your average Pitchfork fan &lt;i&gt;wants&lt;/i&gt; that review. It's no different than Niel Rosen giving &lt;i&gt;American Dreams&lt;/i&gt; four apples.

Either that, or maybe &lt;a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vD6bI7ziGPk" rel="nofollow"&gt;Clell Tickle&lt;/a&gt; got to them.</description>
